Heating and Air Conditioning

Make Sure Your AC Can Handle Every Season

Every season is the season to prepare your Air Conditioning and Heating system. With the unpredictable Southern California weather, it is easy to forget that the cooling system and air quality in the home will need attention all year around,

Make sure your systems are ready for that unpredictable SoCal weather

Air Filter

Air filters are the main component to keeping the air in your home clean. Air filters capture all dust particles, bacteria, viruses, animal dander, pollen, and etc. Consider replacing the home air filters approximately every 30 to 90 days. We recommend to inspect the filters at least monthly; remember, if the filter is dirty, so is the air in your home. When the filters are blocked (dirty), it is harder for your air conditioner work at its full potential resulting in poor airflow, more wear and tear, and higher energy costs.

Indoor and Outside Unit Clearance

The outdoor unit is exposed to all types of weather and, therefore, debris. Every once in a while, it is good to take a look at the outside unit and make sure nothing is blocking the air flow; for example, over grown bushes, trash, debris, etc. There should be a minimum 2-foot clearance around the entire unit for it is essential for maintaining high efficiency levels and reliability.

Just like the outside unit, the indoors components such as the vents, registers and/or indoor air equipment should be kept clear of furniture or anything preventing an even air flow throughout the house for comfortability.

Thermostat

A programmable thermostat provides a great way to lower your energy use when running your HVAC unit; it can save you up to 30% on energy costs throughout the year and make your home more comfortable by automatically adjusting the temperature when sleeping, on vacation, on weekends and/or workdays. Rather than setting the temperature manually, you can program your thermostat in advance to adjust the temperature at different times of the day which will provide you with better control of your home comfort as well as help increase the life span of your AC/Heating unit.

It is important to keep the overall air quality of your home clean each season for your comfort. By taking a few small precautions and inspecting your AC/Heating unit constantly, you avoid high cost maintenance and air pollution in your home.
